COVID-19 Editorial Workflow Challenges: Best Practices for EM/PM Users

As the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic continues to evolve, it affects each of us differently. Aries recognizes the increasing impact this has on publishers’ editorial and production operations. To help navigate some of the new challenges and optimize their workflows for the current climate, we have created a set of workflow tips and best practices for our EM/PM users.

Helpful Features Released in EM/PM Version 16.1

Editorial Manager version 16.1 is now in general release! To help Editorial Manager and ProduXion Manager users stay up to speed on the latest functionality, we have compiled a list of some of the helpful features included in the 16.1 software release. Available enhancements include Batch Reassign Open Editor Assignments, Merge Fields for Additional Manuscript Detail Fields, and more!

Published Case Study: MECA and JATS Compatibility Meta Model

The Journal Article Tag Suite Conference (JATS-Con) will be postponed to a future date due to the COVID-19 pandemic. However, the JATS-CON 2020 Proceedings are available for those interested in learning more about the content that is to be presented during the meeting. This includes a paper authored by Aries Sr. Business Systems Analyst Sally Unboske and NCBI Technical Information Specialist Laura Randall titled “MECA and JATS Compatibility: A case study utilizing the JATS Meta Model“. To learn more about how Aries Systems contributes to the NISO MECA Working Group project and for more details on the results of the JATS case study, read the paper.
