A sneak peek at Version 9.2’s People Flags

The next release will include People Flags, for flagging and tracking of contributor characteristics. This powerful new feature provides the convenience of at-a-glance and searchable information.

Journal administrators will be able to easily configure individual flags from a pool of nearly 800 icons. For example, a particular flag may be designated to represent “excellent reviewer” or other labels created by the journal.

When a flag is attached to a user’s record, it is displayed next to the person’s name on relevant pages.

Are you taking advantage of Editorial Manager’s cross-journal transfer feature?

cross-journal-transferSince 2010, Editorial Manager journals (with a shared people database) have been able to conveniently transfer manuscripts from one journal to another. Manuscripts (including reviewer comments) can be cascaded to other journals immediately following initial submission, or at later points in the workflow, such as after rejection.

Enhancements to this functionality will be included in Versions 9.2 and 10.0.

Version 9.1 to be released in April

v9.1After beta testing and gamma deployment during the past few months, Aries Systems is pleased to report that the most recent release of Editorial Manager and Preprint Manager will begin rolling out in April.

Version 9.1 integrates many time-saving innovations, such as:

  • integration of EM due dates with external calendars like Outlook and Google Calendar

  • accelerated revision workflow by automatically assigning revisions to all prior editors
  • automatic matching and rapid invitation of author-suggested reviewers
