Take a look: Peer Review Evaluation

New ORCID Metrics

ORCIDs are growing in EM! This year, the number of EM journals allowing authors to login with ORCID credentials rose to over 2,500. It only takes one click to simplify author sign in, and capture authenticated ORCID information in the process.

CRediT in 13.0

CRediT-EditorAuthorDetails-screenshotThere is a new open standard emerging for expressing/classifying the diverse roles that lead to research output. The classification includes, but is not limited to, traditional authorship roles.

Project CRediT (Contributor Roles Taxonomy) has created an initial taxonomy that classifies fourteen different ‘Contributor Roles’. Each person contributing to a piece of research may be assigned multiple roles.

EM’s initial implementation of the new standard allows:

  1. The ability to attribute one or more ‘Contributor Roles’ to each Author of a submission
  2. The ability to identify the degree to which a particular contributor was involved, i.e. one of “Lead”, “Supporting”, “Equal”
  3. The ability to configure the collection of Contributor Roles per Article Type, as either optional or required.

Deployment audits drive improvements

One of the value-added benefits of working with Aries is our dedicated Client Services team. Personalized training and support are what the team is most known for, but they also perform audits of existing deployments for customers, in order to that configured workflow options ensure maximum efficiency.

The Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery, Inc. and the Endocrine Society are the most recent clients to participate in audits.

“We had a very positive experience with the Aries team’s audit of our deployment,” said Christina Nelson, Peer Review Manager at JBJS. “Their feedback enabled us to close any gaps in our settings across our journals and ensured we were keeping up-to-date with the most useful developments.”
