Aries Systems Corporation, a leading technology workflow solutions provider to the scholarly publishing community, is pleased to announce the adoption of Editorial Manager® by the Thai-Journal Citation Index (TCI) Centre.

In addition to creating global collaboration for improving journal quality, the Thai-Journal Citation Index Centre’s mission is to expand research and disseminate knowledge to enhance the quality of Thai research output to international standards. Aries’ Editorial Manager (EM), the industry leading manuscript submission and peer review tracking system, will prove instrumental in supporting this mission through its robust functionality and flexible configuration options. EM will allow TCI to efficiently manage workflows across 45 journals in their portfolio, which have successfully transitioned from a legacy peer review system. As TCI grows, more journals are expected to launch through EM overtime.

Thai-Journal Citation Index (TCI) Centre serves as a non-profit national database of research and academic papers published in Thai journals. TCI collects all the published articles, starting from 1991, together with their citations online and in real-time. At present, there are about 1,000 journal titles indexed in TCI database. The information contained in TCI can be freely accessed and searched through keywords, article titles, authors and author affiliations, and publication years.

In addition, the TCI centre has also taken responsibilities in maintaining the ThaiJO (Thai Journal Online) system, re-evaluating Thai journals every five years in order to categorize its journals in different Tiers based on their qualities, developing plagiarism checking system for ThaiJO editors, providing and analyzing data for the purposes of research direction-setting, and monitoring Thai research performance for funding agencies and educational institutions.  Moreover, TCI has been looking after and maintaining the ASEAN Citation Index (ACI) database, where bibliographic records and the citations of articles from selected academic journals published in 10 ASEAN member countries have been stored and provided access to the region and the world. TCI is run by staff from King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT), Bangkok, Thailand, and Thailand’s National Electronics and Computer Technology Center (NECTEC), Pathumthani, Thailand. TCI has been financially supported since its establishment by The Thailand Science Research and Innovation (TSRI) (former the Thailand Research Fund (TRF)), and Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI) of Thailand.
