One more week until EMUG 2019! Here’s how to prepare

EMUG 2019 is exactly one week out from today and we are counting down the minutes! If you are one of the 150+ guests joining us from June 20th-21st in Boston at the Hyatt Regency Boston Harbor Hotel, here are some tips on how to best prepare for the two-day meeting:

Bring Your Innovation Wish-List

During the Feature Workshop session on the first day of EMUG, attendees are provided with an open forum to present suggestions for future product releases. We ask our users to come prepared with a list of features or functionality they would like to see implemented in their deployment of Editorial Manager/ProduXion Manager to contribute to the workshop. These ideas are discussed amongst the group, voted on, and presented to the Aries Product Management team for future development.

Brush Up on your Personal Agenda

All attendees had the option to select the various bootcamp and breakout sessions from the agenda when they registered for the meeting online. By choosing sessions in advance, attendees have access to their personal agenda for the meeting. It is encouraged that all EMUG guests brush up on the topics, times and room locations of the sessions they plan to join. Familiarize yourself with the venue’s floorplan so you know exactly where to go throughout the two-day event! But not to worry, there will be plenty of Aries staff on hand to direct you if you get turned around.

Do Your Homework for the Configuration Audit

Several members of the Aries Client Services team will host a session called Configuration Audit and Consultation Workshop. In advance of the meeting, think about which journals you would like to focus on and each journal’s current needs. You may want to bring a list of questions or features you would like to discuss with the group. The CS team will walk through specific functionality that can improve your deployment. Underused features and configuration tips and tricks will also be showcased to make the most of user experience within the system.

Join the Cocktail Reception

Aries user group meetings are a great place to network with industry colleagues and the Aries team. Following the keynote presentation on Thursday evening, a cocktail reception will be held in the Skyline Ballroom. Guests are free to mingle and enjoy hors d’oeuvres while overlooking the Boston Harbor city skyline.

Take Advantage of Venue Transportation

The venue, Hyatt Regency Boston Harbor Hotel, is located just minutes from the Boston Logan Airport. The Hyatt offers a complimentary roundtrip shuttle service to the airport for all guests. Since the Hyatt is a waterfront hotel, water taxis are also available for guests to use as an alternative method of transportation into the city at a discounted price of $18 per person (7-minute ride into downtown Boston). This is a great way for attendees to explore Boston during any downtime!

We look forward to seeing everyone at next week’s meeting! Follow the meeting highlights on Twitter #EMUG2019.
